Any tips for cleaning exhaust?
I have the spugen dual and loved the chrome/polished look around the inside of the muffler. Now it's covered with exhaust dust and is hard as hell to clean. Anyone have any tips or know of any good products that would clean this more easily? Thanks.
For reference, here's what I mean.

LM, I have the same exhaust and most of the metal polish products with good ol' elbow grease will remove the soot you speak of.
IMO the sooty/darkened portion you want to clean actually looks better with it dark. Gives the illusion of a larger tip and doesn't show the round hole inside an oval (if that makes sence). I recently cleaned mine and it turned out fine, but I'm looking forward to the spring when I can drive it again to get the soot back on there..lol

Thats very common with all exhausts in most vehicles. When detailing, I use Autosol metal polish. It comes in a metallic silver toothpaste type tube, and is relatively inexpensive. Should be able to pick it up from Pep Boys, or other similar automotive stores.
Hope that helps!

to add to what everyone has also said, what has worked for me in the past is the finest grit steel wool you can find and that removes the grime, then polish afterwards
