Still not sure why you'd want to use it for - but from the description of this product ("Must be diluted for use on painted surfaces"), I know my car isn't going anywhere near this stuff.

This product was initially developed for boaters and cleaning sails and hulls. I've been using the stuff as an all-pupose cleaner and it works really well. By the smell of it (I'll admit, a poor test), I think it is the same basic stuff as S100 total cycle cleaner, which is a sodium-silicate cleaner, and it is a lot cheaper. I don't routinely use it on painted surfaces, but I have diluted it as instructed for this purpose, and it works fine without damage. I still think it's best to use a dedicated car wash soap for this purpose though. I use it on my wheels full strength, with no damage to the painted surface. It really works well on tires and just lifts that brown crud off with just a spray on and hose off technique. The FAQ here recommends it for cleaning the convertible top, which, is similar to sails. It really tends to get down into woven material and lift out dirt. I've also used it to clean painted engine surfaces and it's truly amazing here.
