Am I taking too long?

My question is where I live I have no garage for my pickup. If I wanted to split the detail process into 2 days, will I have any problems. Such as wash and clay one day then the next polish and wax. Between my work schedule and the weather doing it all in one day is next to impossible. I just wasn't sure if having the pickup sit over night where it could get dust particles back on it after I wash and clay it would be super horrible before I polished and waxed it. The truck is new to me, but it's an '06 with lots of swirl marks. I can tell it hasn't been taken care of as the water doesn't even sheet off when I just run the hose over it. Any suggestions?

You might also consider polishing one or more panels on the first day. I find that polishing takes a lot longer than one anticipates. The more you can get done on the first day, the less stressful and rushed will be the second day.

I guess it depends on how quick you work, but I do the same process in 5 hours. Add another hour to do the interior, plus another half hour if I do stuff like grease the seals and stuff.
