I ran my hand over the paint and there seems to be very small particles there. I don't recall having this when I sent my car to the detailer.

I used Zaino's car wash with a pig's hair brush. After washing one side/panel, I would hose it down and wipe it dry(to prevent water spotting). Then I proceed to the next area. What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like you need to start over. Use a clay bar to strip all contaminants from the paint. I use Zanio and they have all the products and steps necessary at:

So when you clay, do you clay every single inch of the car or do you feel over the car's paint and clay only those rough spots?

Clay the entire car. It will feel smooth as glass!

Should feel smooth as glass if you do it right.......

Strip the old wax then layer the new.

I used a product called Liquid Glass. This stuff really works great. Makes the car easy to clean. Esp. bugs etc.

After a good wash and wax paint should feel smooth as a baby's butt.

It suppose to feel smooth. If you run your fingers across the surface, it should not make any screeching noises/sound. Put a towel on the fender, it should smoothly slide off the car. And off course there's always the buttnaked test. I don't want to go in to details on that, you've to figure it out yourself.
