If you only waited 20 minutes, this is not long enough if you didn't use ZFX (accelerator). Z2 can take over an hour to many hours before it is ready to take off. I usually do it in the evening and take it off in the morning. Then you must wait 24 hours from when you first put it on (not from when you take it off) before doing another coat. The initial "base" treatment would be 3 coats of Z2. After that, you can do it as often as you like. Some guys do a coat every week. I'm satisfied with 2-3 times a year. Also, Z6 gloss enhancer spray is recommended just prior to a new coat as it "preps" the surface for the next coat. Z6 can be used after a wash (with car wash soap only after the first one with Dawn) to keep the car nice till the next "real" coat.

I wonder... what is the result if someone did not wait that initial 24 hour cure time before applying the second coat?

It doesn't really apply to me b/c I used ZFX, but I'm still curious.

I can't be positive but using my past chemistry background, I would say that if the previous coat was not fully dry/cured, the next layer of product would tend to "dissolve" a bit of the previous one. Kinda like if you tried to paint a wall before the first layer was fully dry. Your brush full of fresh, liquid paint would "stir" up the previous coat's surface layers and push it off. This would be a very exaggerated analogy of course.

My guess would be that one would "push" the Zaino around instead of removing it. The results on a lighter car would be a hazy or cloudy effect. On a dark car it would look like smeared grease.

agreed, you would be smudging the car with z2. i wait longer then 20 minutes and I use ZFX! i would also use Z6 as it made the application much easier, the Z2 went on smoother with a quick Z6 coat.

hamada i would try it again, this time letting it dry over nite. the Z2 should wipe off with very little effort, it's not like regular wax.

The truth is that zaino(or any polish) will look better on dark colored cars. I have multiple coats on my sebring silver and the only difference I noticed is the way it beads water.
