Default 303 on softop = greasy?

Hello all,

I've used Maguier's Natural Vinyl Treatment for the softop, with great success. It looks fantastic after it has soaked in.

Here's my question. Is the 303 protectant very greasy? I find the Maguier's stuff leaves alot of residual. For instance, I cannot put my car cover on for at least a couple of days. Otherwise I get the Maguier's soaking thru the cover (I use alot, just to work it into the pores of the top). Another problem with Maguier's is that when the top is down, the folded window comes in contact with top and I get Maguier's all over my nice clean/clear window - ugh!

Will the 303 be less of a mess? Do I have to work it into the pores like the Maguier's, thus using alot again?

I know the owners like 303. I'd like to hear about it, but there are no reviews in the product directory.

Bring it on people.
Thanx

just from skimming a lot of posts on the subject, i seem to get the theme that raggtop is probably the cleanest one between 303 and it. 303 seems to wash off a lot easier than raggtop. but again, not the expert. only going off what i skimmed through when i was looking for a good product.

pretty good skimming wortham!
both meguiars and 303 should be applied, removed and buffed.
o.k. to use a lot, but removal is very important.
also you should put a rag in the window when you put the top down- i roll up a large rag for that. keeps the window from scratching its self and keeps it new.
i like all of the products mentioned, but how they are used is as important as the quality of the products!

When 303 is applied, if you don't wipe off the excess, the amount that did not bond to the vinyl will wash off. however, if you properly apply the 303, it does NOT wash off once applied.

According to the manufacturer, when 303 Protectant is applied, it creates a molecular bond with the vinyl that is not broken except with time. Rain will NOT wash off the 303 layer that is protecting your vinyl

Thanx folks.

Looks like most products will come off in the rain and/or slime up the window. Next time, I'll try a follow-up to remove the excess.

Raggtop seems pretty popular....that'll be my next one to try. Seems its not as likely to come off, and is less glossy.

Keep 'em clean!!!!!

one more suggestion and how i did it which seemed to work well with the excess. use a lint free cloth to apply the stuff. it took a little longer, but it helped to be applied evenly and left a lot less to be washed off later.
