I just read the entire thing since I might do a girl's lexus as a birthday present in June. Awesome write up! Do you have any links to the kevin brown method?

Thanks!

He's still finishing his paper on it, but if you've got (alot) of time, read through this thread: http://www.autopia.org/forum/machine-polis...erstanding.html

You have to sort through all of the bickering, but you can get a good idea of it.

Cliffs Notes version:

PC with an orange pad (preferrably 5.5" pad)
Prime entire surface of pad with 105. Be sure to cover the entire surface, but don't soak it.
Apply a bead of 105 directly on surface of vehicle
Work with heavy pressure on speed 6, but not too much that the pad stops rotating clockwise.
Just before the polish starts to flash, stop, apply more product to vehicle surface, and work it again.
Check progress.

For soft Lexus paint, this method only needs to be used on really heavy defects and heavy swirls.

Hope this helps.

Would you use the same methods on an s2k as you did with this lexus?
I am thinking about purchasing some m105 this weekend. Currently I only have access to my friend's 3m and don't want to keep using his stuff haha. Thanks for all of the quick responses!

I find Honda and Lexus paint to be very similar, but if you're doing it on your black Honda, then be sure to use the appropriate finishing polish/pads afterwards.
