Thanks guys!
nlink720 -- I used Meguiars DA Microfiber pads, which are the only pads that can be used with the DA 2-step polish.
Thanks for the Menzerna recommendation DD & VanishingPoint -- I'll follow up here with another finishing wax pass in a couple months and top it off with Menzerna.

Dwight -- I can't remember, I believe mine are the 6".
sno0wman -- yep, its a good system to use. I'm going to polish again within the next week with the first compound (d300). I won't be following up with the 2nd compound this time, but I will instead be using Chemical Guys' Black Light + V07 Sealant Detailer. Results should be even better

It sounds like the D301 is an all-in-one so you might be missing out on some of the fine polishing that it provides.

If you don't have any swirl, I don't see a need to go back to D300. At very least, I'd be cautious about using D300 without following it up with a finer polish for fear that it would leave a little hazing on BB which is generally considered to be a soft paint. Why not try using D301 for a fine polishing action and then washing the car with dish soap to strip the wax and then apply Black Light and V7?
D301 is a finishing wax designed just to remove any light hazing created by D300/DMC5 while adding a degree of gloss and protection.

Well, I do have a few swirls again. The D301 shouldn't be necessary this time around as the Black Light is also a fine polisher/protectant. Here's what I'm using in its place:
