Zarqawi captured?
Al Jazeera is reporting that Abu Mus'ab Al Zarqawi has been captured in Iraq.

I haven't been able to confirm this report through any U.S. news sources though.

Even if true, I doubt that it will make much difference. Do you think it will?

If correct, I think it would make a huge difference. Zarqawi has basically been running the resistance since a few months before Saddam was captured. Without threats of assassination from his group, it will be a lot easier for Sunni candidates to run in the elections and for Sunnis to vote - which would help a lot in making the new government more representative.

I doubt that it'll make a big difference in regards to the war, but it would be a serious blow to Al Qaeda if he has info on the whereabouts of ObL, etc., that could be extracted from him.

I also think that the terrorists groups are so fragmented that the loss of any one leader doesn't make much difference.
Even if the news of his capture is true, and I haven't seen it elsewhere yet, I just don't think it will change much or make any difference.

I doubt the whatever information might be extracted would be useful by the time it is extracted. I think Al-Qaeda is way too clever to allow the capture of any one person to make much difference.

I'm inclined to doubt the veracity of AJ's story, but the strange thing is that I have been unable to find any confirmation or denial, or for that matter even any mention of AJ's report from any U.S. or European news sources.

If they caught him good. Whether it's one or a thousand, that's one less out there that want you and yours dead. I prefer my glass half full not half empty.
Think about it

O.K., I'll give it to you. There is one less terrorist out there and that is a good thing, but I wasn't talking about Zarqawi's importance as an individual terrorist.
I was talking about the bigger picture. I was talking about whether or not Zarqawi's capture would make much difference in terms of the terrorist organizations and the overall terrorist activity. I was talking about his leadership and command of the terrorists under him. I think someone else will step up and take over.
