I have 'Protect and Serve" mass plates. it's a matter of public record.
I get the scammers that want me to donate to the xyz police association.
"leave cash in an envelope in you mailbox and we'll pick it up"

I get the travel company calls at least twice a day. It is always a gal (usually with a Philippine accent) telling me my my expired travel date with insurance has expired but they are ready to send me someplace else for $800. They invariably ask if I see myself traveling in the future. When I say I am (was) an airline pilot they either hang up or go silent.

Today I got a message on my phone to go to a website for lab test results. Funny, as I never got calls from any labs before. Usually, they mail the results.
Anyhow, when I went to the site... Norton posted a "do not proceed" warning. As the site was reported to be a fraud. Gathering password and other personal data --- pretending to register you to a new service of your health insurance.
Just a warning.

I get very few calls on my home or land line. I typically don't have my ringer on my cell anyway, so I notice hours afterI got a call. Works great for spam, not so much for Cindy. Once in a while, if I notice a call and its a local number, I do answer - especially this time of year when the charity event is in full swing.
Email is different. bombarded on all my accounts. GMail and Y! do a decent job of filtering. The latest thing is for spammers to use real company addresses, but a slightly different alphabet for some characters. Now, instead of immediately noticing that the email from Amazon about your order is from "nasdfwaehh234009232@fakeemail.com" it appears as "orders@ɑmɑzon.com" with a "ɑ" for the a. It's a different character in the computer world and therefore is a different email address, while it looks like amazon.com when we read it. However, its much less noticeable than "nasdfwaehh234009232@fakeemail.com". So be aware.
One thing I do if its suspicious is to look not at the "Name" of the email address, but to look at the address. That of course is only if I even think the email is real by some chance.
I never click a link to the bank or shopping - I go to the site directly - using the notification as that - notification only.

It's been a Robocall Hell for the last week or two. Sometimes, more than 25 calls a day on the landline.
I have 92 phone numbers which I've filtered out in my cell, since 2/16/23. That's less than two months. Absolutely one of the most annoying things ever.
