That's what made it so funny.

We were sitting at the round table discussing the origin of the word "cracker." Jim, being our resident expert, gave us a professorial version of the word, a few others pitched in and I just sat and listened. When everyone was finished I thought I'd add my 2 cents and intelligently asked if anybody wanted to hear what they called it in the black community. Before anyone could open their mouths to say a word, and without missing a beat, Martha come out with one word, "graham". I thought I'd spit diet Pepsi all over the place. Funniest thing I'd heard in a long time.

There's a young guy in Central Peeay named Dan whose SN is CrazyCracker. I've never asked him how he picked the name, but always thought it was straaaaaange. He's the young guy who stopped in at the Friday night dinner at Gettysburg (Scozzaro's Old Mill Inn).....some of you might 'member him

Methinks Val liked the six pack. Haven't seen a devilish grin like that on her face in a long time.

Once again I think she was trying to get some of that "young" to rub off on her.

Yep, Lainey. Ya gotta love the youth!!! I've thought about this emoticon thing repeatedly over the past few days. I do not like this one: and I think its because the little fella banging his head gets such a nasty look on his little face as he's hits the wall. I've never been able to use this one, because I just think he's nasty: I've never found a reason to use this one , but I like this one Everytime I get a pm and see this one it makes me smile. I suppose my favorite is this one (go figure). I think in having web conversations, the use of emoticons is probably more important than we may think. In posting we're actually injecting our thoughts into a conversation and unless we're quite careful to use the appropriate literary style to convey our emotion the reader can take our words completely differently than we intend so the emoticon provides the emotional intent without the need for verbosity.
