Is your daughter past her "sell by" date?
I saw this on CNN and had to ask all of you for your reaction. The autor's thesis is that women in ivy league schools should focus on finding their life partner while they are in school. She says that women have a shorter "shelf life" than men and the best time to find the life partner is while you are in college surrounded by men who are you intellectual equalls.

Interestingly, she give men different advice and tells them to wait! If both sexes follow her advice, who will win???

Who knows? I definitely agree about the intellectual equal part, but I don't think you have to restrict yourself to a partner from the school you attend. Both my ex husband and the +1 are very intelligent guys. I met the ex at my sister's wedding reception, and the +1 on Match.com.

My wife's college roommate waited patiently. She found and married a great guy just before her 40th birthday. They have two beautiful children and look like they will be happy for the long haul.
My wife and I met in our mid-twenties and married at 30.

How important is the intellectual part? My wife was a stand out student in high school, started college as a physics major, and graduated with a BS in technical communications. I was a B-/C+ student and went to a 2-year school for an AAS in mechanical technology. She is "book smart", I'm "hands on smart." We've been together 27 years. We each believe "Happiness is being married to your best friend."
Sounds like the author "settled" and has regrets.

For the record one of my daughters "landed" her guy in college. Thankfully, a few years later she "threw him back to the sea" and then met Mr Right out in the real world.
