No need to be a martyr anymore. Sucking it up can be most annoying and uncomfortable.

I think some things can be "sucked up" but if things continue, become chronic, a re-evaluation of the plan may be in order. Just my .02.
True, but I've always had an unusually high pain threshold. Most aches and pains are just minor inconveniences that I can easily ignore. This last little escapade was in a whole 'nother territory, however.

Or Jack Daniels or Wild Turkey. All available over the counter without a prescription.

We have several "brave little soldiers" in our midst. The "sucking it up" crew is leading in the poll with the "druggies" right behind them.

Pain relief aids healing, or so I am told. I can't vote for any of the above, because I have used all. I am sure that there are people that will disagree, but I find chiropractic to be mostly useless, and yes I have spent thousands on that regimen.
Massage is good for me, have not tried acupuncture. I have a very hard time with opiates, and opioids (Percocet, Vicodin) upset my stomach after a short stint. But when the pain is bad enough, I'll take almost anything, and treat the nausea.

Ken. I've tried the above except acupuncture and that could be next.

As far as chiropractor, I know people who get relief from chiropractic treatment. I tried it for a neck issue, got some relief but it didn't last and I really, really didn't like the neck cracking thing. Freaked me out. If the neck acts up, massage seems to help the most.

I do about those chiropractors who claim they can help with asthma and ADD.

I've been told the same by a number of doctors. It's one of the reasons that I was less reticent about using painkillers this time around.

I prefer the more immediate effect of drugs. Massage therapy sounds nice though. Do I need to wait until I'm in pain to get my massage?

Not at all. Money talks!

For those who have had massages, how much does it cost you?

I get half hour for $35.00 which I don't think is unreasonable. 1/2 hour is enough. As a matter of fact, I should double check my insurance plan, I think there may be a discount at selected places.
