Thumbs up For your aches and pains?

So if you have an issue that is causing pain, have chronic pain, or just an every now and again thing that Advil and Tylenol won't help, what do you do?

See a chiropractor, massage therapist, try acupuncture, hit your "stash" of drugs, or wait it out and hope for the best?

I have tried a chiropractor, but didn't care for having my neck cracked. I find massage therapy to be helpful and it is often recommended for many ailments.

Just curious as to what works for the rest of my pals?

I used to be a martyr and suffer without any drugs, thinking I was 'strong' and 'it wasn't natural'.
and speaking of natural, I gave birth twice and refused meds both times.
I was tough. and young. and stupid.

Then I got a kidney stone.
The Dr. ordered Demerol.
It was the same drug I had refused when in labor.
let me tell you,
It was my best friend until I passed the stone.

Thankfully I don't have chronic pain.
But if I did, I'd be popping pills like candy
and not thinking twice about it.

Appreciate the response, Mary.

I'm getting PT for the shoulder and have added massage as I have an issue with a bit of shoulder freezing. I have some uncomfortable days and utilize my drug stash from time to time. I don't like taking them, but I see no need to be a martyr, especially if I tried OTC meds with no relief.

I've never made "friends" with Jim.

I realized I forgot to include that kind of medicine, but you can't change a poll after it's posted.

^From a biological perspective, that article is the silliest thing I've read in weeks.

Until Memorial Day weekend, my vote would have been "suck it up". I've since reevaluated my position on the subject.

Dean.

No need to be a martyr anymore. Sucking it up can be most annoying and uncomfortable.

I think some things can be "sucked up" but if things continue, become chronic, a re-evaluation of the plan may be in order. Just my .02.
