Default Young Blood

Went to our MGA club "business" meet this weekend. We only have one business meet a year; mostly to set up the calendar of events. However, ever couple years (and this one was no exception) they start talking about how they can get more "young" people involved in the club. Folks, these are MGAs we are talking about. The first one was built 52 years ago and the last one was made 45 years ago!!

I have heard these same discussions for the past 25 years.

Years ago I suggested that if they wanted younger people they should at least join up with the MGB club. Heck, they made them until 1980. Oh, no, we couldn't do that; we've always be a single model club (about 200 members in our local club).

One of the nice things about owning an S2000 is it spans 16 to 76. We've just learned that there will be a 2008 model, so it continues. One of the nice things about this is that we will keep getting 'new blood' into the Vintage Forum. Bet you never thought of that.

When I saw the title of this thread I thought you were talking about the song by the Coasters (the Robins as they were originally known).

I did, too, Rob. The song started echoing through my mind...

The so called Club Racer might bring some mild interest.

I know a couple of older guys who own MG-TCs and MG-TDs. They still haven't accepted the fact that the MGAs and MGBs were really MGs.

I read an article recently that said the boomers are determined to never age and the new developments being built with special designing in mind for the baby-boomers are including new athletic facilities, etc. that were never a consideration in the past. Makes a boomer proud!!!
