Yeah, forgot to post. He did not take the job that looked so promising because they could not meet his salary requirement. Too bad...another job up the street may happen. In the meantime, he's negotiating a different position with his current company. To be cont'd...

^ It's always a bit tricky to find a good fit in a job. One thing may be great, but something else not so. Can make the decision difficult. Contacts are so important in the search. Speaking of - Jonas, what's up with your job sitch???

Changing jobs is a tough decision. Years ago I applied for and was selected for a job at a local school. It was a good job with very good benefits. I didn't take the job as I was afraid the duties were not varied enough for me to enjoy the job, and the salary was not quite where I thought I needed it to be, as we weren't that far into paying a mortgage.

I have myself more times than I can count on that decision.

I just started a separate thread on helping out our job seekers. Post about your experiences in there if you want. I think occasionally about retiring from my current job and doing something different, but I'm enjoying it, so probably won't for the foreseeable future.

The +1 is still working on where he will end up - maybe at his current company, maybe at another one. More irons in the fire appeared at the end of last week. Sometimes, however, jobs look better on paper than they do when the interview takes place. One VP in his company told him he has 70 vacancies because unemployment in DC is so low.

Good luck with it. I've been there before, going back and forth and then something else comes along. It's a long process and keeping the faith is a must. Persistence helps too.

Merci, Emil...currently has about four things going with the current company. Looking like a slot up the street from our condo. Not definite yet.
