Thanks guys! I thought of my Dad a lot while I was there, seeing the old veterans wandering about reminded me of him too.
One of the planes just flew over my house. They give the rides at the end of the day.

Nice pics Lainey. I believe they charged 50 bucks for a B-17 ride when one such plane was here.
Silvershadow: If you want to see aircraft from all periods and most foreign warring countries, you should go to Wright Patterson in Dayton, Ohio. There is no other place in the world like it. Plan an all day trip and good shoes. It's free and overwhelming. There is nothing else like it. You name a WW II aircraft and it is there in perfect condition, with all the data you might want.

Sweet. Loved that picture in the article with all three planes flying side-by-side. I too am a B-17 lover. I've been through them several times but never up in one.

A friend of mine went once and showed me pictures of the XB-70 and a B-36, and a B-47. All planes that I have never seen.
I don't know if they have the flying wing or not, but I remember putting a model of one together when I was a kid. I think it is in the original "War of the Worlds" also.

Another article from today's local paper. A WWI Vet got to complete another mission. It's a nice read. WWII Vet
