A friend of mine just got hit by a Tesla that was on auto-pilot, he got T-Boned by the Tesla. The Tesla ran a stop sign as my friend was driving down a small 50 mph road.

I wonder how strong the front end of a Tesla is since they don’t have radiator supports and all that. I would think that they would of taken that into account when designing the car. Is your friend O.K.? What were they driving?

A couple of weekends ago during a snow storm a guy came flying around a corner and slid across the road crashing into the left front quarter panel and drivers door of my friends SUV with him and his family in it. The force pushed them into a ditch luckily they weren’t seriously hurt. The guy that hit them had bald summer tires on his car. Big reason why I hate driving in bad weather too many idiots out there driving in vehicles not equipped to handle the road conditions.

I guess because we have so many tourists or those who only come here on occasion, the constant scream of sirens on Ocean Highway (Rt. 17) make me think this area has the worst drivers in the country. Throughout the day and through the night I can hear them. There is an intersection about 1/4 of a mile from the entrance to my subdivision that breaks off into a "Y" and there are many accidents there constantly. Cars roll into that intersection and pull out in front of other vehicles who are traveling at 55 mph or more. It is horrendous!

I will never own an auto-pilot vehicle. Too much of this happening. I want control over my car not some computer. I hope your friend was not injured.

A number of electric vehicles burn up in flames during accidents , a big issue in China with BYD right now, glad the Tesla did not catch on fire.

My friend has some minor injuries, the airbags deployed and he is pretty sore and has some brain fog still. He had his young son and nephew in the back of the CR-V and they are okay. It could have been a lot worse. The CR-V was a write off.

^ That is not good that he has brain fog. He should definitely check this out. It is fortunate that his son and nephew are okay. Indeed it could have been much worse. I am not sure if self driving cars are the future when you hear case like this. I run into inattentive drivers all the time. Where I live, we have two roundabout and I always see cars going around violating the other lane as they go around. We need to have a tougher driving standard like Germany to get license.
