Default A wise man

Raise your shot glasses.

A man named Jack Daniels and his wife gave birth to a baby on Nov. 14 and named him Jim Beam, carrying on a spirited tradition that also includes the judge who officiated their marriage, Judge Johnny Walker.

Houma Today reports that Jack Daniels Leathers, 31, and Lydia Leathers, 23, of Gray, La., came up with the name on their first date. They say they hope to continue the alcohol-themed names as they raise a family.

The Leathers tell the paper the story of how it all began: "My parents decided they wanted to name their son something to make their parents mad," Jack said. "And, at the same time, my dad was drinking Jack, which he enjoyed. My mom said 'why not?'"

So when it was their time, the couple went with "Jim Beam."

Now that they have a whiskey and bourbon name, what about their next kids? Evan Williams, "after the bourbon," or Sherry, "like the cooking sherry," Jack tells Houma Today.

I'm sure growing up with your name as a joke will result in well rounded individuals.
I'm sure everyone else in the trailer park thought it was hysterically funny.

I wouldn't be that harsh. He could some day be Gov in LA with that name.

I know a lady who was breeding Maine Coon cats. All the cats were given Whiskey names.

So many names to choose from......

And if you leave the bourbon clan...... the list of names gets bigger!
