Since the drive the next morning is not so long, there's no hurry to get on the road in the morning. I'd anticipate leaving there about 10AM.

Just maybe we can be there around 10AM if I can do some serious and leave around 7AM .

if you would like a "getting there is half the fun" route out of cleveland, try I77 south to parkersburg, wv to U.S. rt 50 west to I-79 south to U.S. 33 west to I-81 south. these 4 lane sections of rt 50 and 33 are part of the appalachian highway (D1 and D2) and are alleged to be scenic. the last 100 miles is 2 lane while you cross over 3 mountain chains to get to wintergreen. have not driven it before, but there's a first time for everything...

enjoy,

I'm considering something like that for the drive home, especially if we get out of Wintergreen at a decent hour. Thanks.

I think our final schedule will be as follows:

Try to leave as early as 5pm, most likely 6pm Thursday.

4.5 hours of driving to Berkely Springs, where we stay overnight.

Depart in the morning for the 118 miles drive to the Grand Caverns, where we hope to meet Lainey, Patricia & whoever else. Since the caverns are only 32 miles from Wintergreen, there's no reason to hurry to get there early, I suspect. Meeting about 11 should be more than early enough. I couldn't find any cave tour schedules online - looks like you have to call them.

Arrive Wintergreen about 4pm or so.

Jonas, here we are last minute planning. We intend to leave home about 2pm thursday and take the 80/90 to Cleveland then 80E/76E. I'm wondering if we can plan to meet on the way. If there is any chance of this working out I have a number of other questions. I'll pm you and see what happens.

I'm leaving school a bit early on Thursday (hopefully around 1:30 -2:00) and picking up Krystal at home in Chicago then heading out to Columbus OH, we are staying at the Baymont Inn near the University. It should take us about 5 -6 hours to get there and then about 7 hours to get to Wintergreen on Friday...so we shouldn't be too late in the afternoon on Friday.

We are also leaving on Sunday since....UGH believe it or not ... I have a meeting that I can't miss at 3pm on Monday with a software company rep and the Principal...they couldn't make it any other day oh well..such is life.

I also see that the weather is suppose to be great...I'm hoping I remember what Jonas told me about how to get the hardtop off

Jonas.

Friday AM schedule looks good. We'll be in touch by phone on Friday? I don't think the next hotel has a computer available.

Not sure the Caverns are as good as others, but we can check it out anyway. If any change of plans, give me a shout!

See you Friday!
