Not far enough apparently. I'm freezing.
Mike is right. It hasn't been above 60°F since Wednesday.

Wife says we are going to Paducky for Christmas even though I keep screaming "Nothing north of Chattanooga between Halloween and Easter." I guess I should be happy that she doesn't want to visit the Iowa relations.

Oh well, at least we leave for the Bahamas cruise 10 January.

The company I retired from (and where I still occasionally consult) may want me to spend about 2 months at their manufacturing operation in Ormond Beach, FL, in Jan. and Feb. Let's see, what should my decision be?

Two weeks in TN finished and another one to go. We'll be heading home to cold Ohio. We won't be getting down to FL till Feb some time. By then I will be ready. We'll probably cut it short and go home for our son coming back from Afghanistan. The most likely, we'll head off to TX to visit the daughter.
John, you folks keep busy. Is your son coming home on leave? He's half way through his tour, or was his tour less than a full year?

With a sister in SC and a brother in law in FL, we likely could head south and stay for free, " a la pas2k", but I see no escape from the winter weather for us.

Hope you folk who are escaping winter have a good time and lots of sunshine.

Raymo I believe it is, but if you're here in the Winter, take the open cockpit bi plane (great view fun ride) or one of the smaller charters, they're only $50 more and it only take 35 minutes to an hour out of Marco but you go over Everglades National Park

In the winter, the birds are all down there in the swamp and the 10k islands. Incredible looking down at them from low altitude. The sea there is the same way shallow and clear. A beautiful part of the US few ever see.

Worth your time if you haven't done it.

fltsfshr

Next time for sure.

Thanks for the tip.

Lainey: Our son's last day there is 28 Feb, plus 5-6 days to get home. Docs there stay for 6 months; has to do with their ability to get in their continuing education done for the year and maintaining radiology credentials.

Thanks for the reply, John. I can't believe six months have almost passed.

It hasn't been above freezing here all week and we are suppose to get one inch of snow tonight and three more inches before the end of Sunday. HOWEVER, I am not complaining. I like it here.

I didn't know about taking a ferry or a biplane to KW. Good thing to keep in mind since airfares were outrageous the last time I checked. Thanks.

EDIT: I checked the ferry from Marco Island - it's three hours and $145 round trip.

We haven't been above ~35F. It's much too early for this kind of weather.
