It's up to 34 right now here, with luck this "warmer" rain will reduce the ice thickness so when it gets colder later in the day the damage will be less... I so don't want to go home to a house without heat, thank goodness my beer will stay cold though as i can move that outside.

Headed for 71 here today. But tomorrow reality hits...dropping into the 30s for Wed. So all we've had is some rain. I hope everyone affected gets electricity back soon!

We got it last night - about 40 miles north of Dallas.

Doug -

I don't want to revive the global warming argument but -

Wouldn't this have been a snow event a decade ago? I know the ice storms we have down here do much more damage than the snows we had when I was a kid. Y'all still OK?

Just cold and dreary here in Philly. Some drizzle but not too cold. We often get hit with the easterly moving sh*t, but missed out thus far

What's the report up in Plattsburgh, Levi I know that you'll be up in about 5 hours.....

We've even had freezing weather here in Phoenix. Last night's temperature here at my house was 29, and it was 25 away from the city. We have fire sprinklers in our houses and the pipes have been freezing and bursting in our neighborhood. Six houses down and several more days of cold weather to go.

After 6" of snow we got the freezing rain on top of it yesterday, though nothing like around Doug or the mid west, they're conditions reminds me of the great ice storm we had 9 yrs ago this week, ain't no picnic to be without power for a couple weeks this time of year. Temps here are supposed to continue dropping to about minus 10 tonite with a high Wed of 5. Still better than a bad ice storm. How's the weather where you are today?

Good question, and hard to say...
This whole winter so far is breaking all sorts of warmth records as well as lack of snowfall.
Our planet is changing for sure, although I don't buy all the theories of global warming.
