Default Who is getting hammered with the ice storm?

My parents are in Naples NY at the top of one of the ridge lines. Yesterday pulling out of the driveway I was into the pine limbs because they were so low, this morning it looks like they will begin loosing trees as the rain has not stopped and sounds like it may go on all day.

I live about 60 miles north of them closer to Rochester NY. My truck clearly had 1/4" of ice on it this morning and it is raining like hell here so everything is still building up. I'm really getting concerned because the temps are supposed to start dropping today, not the kind of thing that will help.

This storm has covered a wide area, I hope you all are doing okay!

Doug.

We're getting rain as well but our temps are above freezing, so we are OK. We do expect temps in the teens on Wednesday, but just for the one day, and as far as I know, no precip expected with the cold temps.

Be careful out there!

Thanks! Glad to hear you are just getting rain!

I had a few moments driving home yesterday, there was one hill I just had to shift into 4WD in order to get up. At this point I'm soooooo glad I got the new all terrain tires for the Titan.

Strange, we are having a sumultaneous ice storm down here in Texas. Sleet and frozen rain on the trees -- electricity out. It's right on Houston's doorstep today, and moving slowly. Tonight the roads and bridges will be icy. The big fear is that people in this area don't have much experience driving in winter conditions, so it is dangerous out there. The S stays in the garage this week.

I have been watching the Weather Channel a lot, and considering so far the winter up here has been more like spring, I have to confess, I'm really surprised by how much snow and ice has been shown in the Dallas area.

Good luck 97! I know what you mean about keeping the S in the garage. As I was driving into work this morning I was way more concerned about oncoming traffic causing me problems than I was the roads causing me problems.

Doug, I agree with you about the Nissan trucks. I have the Armada, and it is sweet -- even in deep snow!

It was in the 70s here yesterday and sunny. +1 and I had a nice topdown drive in the S. Looks the same for today so I'm planning to take my big bulldog, Max, out for a nice long walk. We went out and walked a couple/miles last night around 8:00 and it was so warm I didn't even take a jacket. I'm loving it, but I'm sure some bad stuff will be here before long.

I thought this thread was about drinking when I first saw it.

We had 70s yesterday as well. Today should be low 60s but tomorrow we won't get out of the 40s. Rain's on the way but at least it won't be freezing.

This is exactly what I'm concerned about...
