Good morning. Waiting for the storm to hit here tonight and Friday. Be safe if you are in its path.

I'm here but I'd rather be asleep. Called out by work at 00:45, it's 30-something degrees outside and I'm sitting in a sleeping bag waiting for a DBA to call. Tuesday night we had a major outage due to a "non-impact" network change, and last night we had a major outage due to an operator error. I've had enough of this week, I was going to finish for the week at lunchtime and have a nice relaxing afternoon but at this rate I'll just take the whole day off. It's end of school term today so I'll take the kids out to lunch somewhere.

Ah, the joys of being in IT (and Oracle keeps everyone's like extra interesting). Is that 30*C or F? Might make a HUGE difference (I'm going with C, though).

Yep, Fahrenheit, I do my best to convert everything to American for you guys. Still here unfortunately, repeating the same info for the fifth time to yet another vendor rep. 5:15am now...I don't think I'm going to bed. Nudging 40 degrees now. In Summer we're 30-40 as well, only Celsius.

After living all over the world, I prefer Celsius and metric system. That "foot" and "inches" and "yard" and other strange measurements are weird.
