It went up here too. I paid $2.53 for 91 octane today, and that was at the cheap place!

It went up here too but @2.53 is really high. Sunoco 94 octane is now between $2.27/9 and $2.29/9 here. New Jersey usually is on the cheap side of the average, but the difference between 2.53 and 2.29/9 is significant. Expecially when you consider that the $2.53 was for 91 octane.

You have 91 octane? We have 87, 89 and 93 = $2.25 today.

The joys of living in California

In the San Francisco area, it's at least a dime higher than here in LA.

California gas is a little different, but the price difference is a scam. (For pollution control, the formula is different, but it only costs about 5 cents more a gallon to make than your gas.) It's just that a lot of the refiners don't want to go to the bother of making "California" gas, so the few that do can keep the wholesale price much higher.

BTW, 94 octane, when you can find it, is over $3.50 a gallon!

In Ca. it's 87 89 91

you can only find higher at special places or race tracks. There's a specialty gas station not too far from me that sells 94 for 3.65, and 100 for 5.50

I can't believe it - I filled up with Premium yesterday for $1.729 in Oklahoma City. I don't remember the exact high here but I think it was just under $2.00.

I asked Dick Cheney. He told me to go myself.

Regular was as much as $3.35/gal in Massachusett this past few days, so we waited to fill up the Prius in NJ for about $2.95/gal.

I know most folks here don't like the Prius, but the 39.0 mpg looked pretty good on our trip from Gloucester MA to Philly today :exitright: Just turned 76k miles in almost 5 years of ownership...
