OK...I want a list of those who are planning to participate in SF05. Then we can plot the central point for driving purposes. So post your interest ASAP! We seem to have agreed on the weekend of April 30th. Right??
Tomcatt & +1 are GO for the weekend of April 30th, subject to confirmation by HillyKitty considering my financial advisor, chief travel agent and GHQ has final say-so and arrangements of this sort are subject to outside influences that HQ is aware of and the lowly peon troops such as me have no idea about... love you honey!!!

[QUOTE=OhioRacer,Oct 29 2004, 08:39 AM] Back to the subject at hand. Is it possible to plot out a target location that is 5-6 hours max from the majority of expected participants? In other words, 80% of the attendees are 5 hours from X location. Where is our statistician when we need him?

OK, Y'all...I've started a planning thread for SF05. Let's try to keep that one confined to planning this event...

that would be the best -- however, every meet we've had has been at least an eight hour drive for us and far more for Tommyra, Matrix and others. Our locations are so diverse, that it will be difficult to accommodate everyone. We also need to be sure we have members in the area who can physically map out a drive and meet with hotel officials in order to make the best deals for everyone.

OHHH, I expect to attend if the drive time is doable.

Would you be able to take the lead if we choose Natural Bridge?

I'd be happy to do that, Rob. Natural Bridge is about an hour from me.

Either area of Va works for me, but keep in mind driving times for others from up North to get there. DC is only another hour south of last year's event, but the Lynchburg area is another three hours drive south of DC. I'm thinking of the drive I mentioned above, with perhaps a hotel not too far from Dulles Airport, for Patty and Andy to be able to fly in easily. I don't believe any B&Bs will be large enough for our group, but I can check further. Let me know what y'all think...For the record, there is a go-cart track in the area that might satisfy that urge, but I would prefer we keep this to a drive and socialize event.
What we are talking about here is an 10+ hour ride for the NE folks, can't we find something a little more central?

Talking

Count me and my +1 tentatively in...subject to the final destination selected, the whims of work, and random forces of nature.

For Rand McNally plotting purposes, we'd be coming from Greenville, SC or perhaps Columbia, SC.
