Hey, we could make a grits-eating contest one of the social activities. LB will be assimilated! AND we can finally convince my grandson that it's not cream of wheat. Oh we got 'em now ladies.
Look over me, TC got me silly this morning. I'm down for wherever it is.

From my house in the NW burbs of Chicago, according to MapQuest:
Natural Bridge: 718 miles - 12-1/2 hours
Peaks of Otter: 729 miles - 13 hours
I think either one would work for us, but the Peaks sounds really special.

5 uses for grits:
1) To seal cracks in your foundation
2) Mix with water and use for enema
3) Clean carbon deposits off tailpipe
4) Bee stings
5) Lubrication for garage door tracks

I really like the Peaks of Otter idea, too, but keep in mind for the NE folks, it's a pretty long haul...223 miles from DC, according to their website. Added on to quite a few other miles, that's alot. Anyway, everyone think about it and post!

Back to the subject at hand. Is it possible to plot out a target location that is 5-6 hours max from the majority of expected participants? In other words, 80% of the attendees are 5 hours from X location. Where is our statistician when we need him?

From northern New Jersey, according to Microsoft Streets and Trips, the Peaks of Otter is 427 miles and Natural Bridge is 405. Not too much difference. I think the decision should be based upon which one can accomodate our group best.

Grits - corn - butter, salt, and pepper - best served with a side of meat and eggs.
Cream of Wheat - wheat - milk and sugar - best served with a side of toast.
Man, do you Yanks need to come down South for a bit. Another tidbit - a lot of restaurants serve iced tea with a pre-sweetened option!!!!
Hey, Legs, I like the idea of somebody plotting a map of potential attendees. I'm pretty sure the majority of potentials are somewhere between New York and Virginia, with scatterings to the North Central (3 or 4), Far Northeast (4 or 5), Far Southeast (2 or 3), and Far West (2 or 3). I'd do it, but it probably won't get done before Spring Fling, so maybe somebody else..... but I'm thinking Virginia looks good....though Spring Fling 2005 is out of the question for me...
