Well, no Caps playoff game tomorrow. They got slammed by the Lightning four straight. Will be a great weekend weatherwise, however, so will be walking some and driving top down for sure. Buying my mom a birdbath to take over on Sun. She got flowers today.

Whoa. Did I screw up? Guess I'll have to restrict my posts to Floor Talk from now on.

(I AM looking at wooden floors to consider for a large basement room in Colorado this summer. But that's a middle of the week project.}

This is a family oriented site, buddy. Not one of those sites where you go around complimenting guys on their wood.

Since it's a basement, you might want to look at some vinyl options. This stuff is great. It's commercial grade and it looks almost like the real thing. I had my living room and master bedroom done with the stuff. Vinyl wood patterns

Be careful of engineered products if your basement floor gets moisture. I tested all the samples I liked using the scientific method.

I threw samples of everything in my pool for 4 days. The engineered products all were porous and the resin deteriorated. They also lost color to my pool chorine. The 3/4" Koa wood was just as perfect as when I threw it in. Brazilian Cherry did equally well.

Hardest part was leveling the floor as I didn't want to put a subfloor down. I used a product called Elastilon to install it. It's a peel and stick technique.

So far so good.

I'm hosting my first Austin Healey meet tomorrow. I have 30 guests I've never met coming to my house. Should be fun; I get along best with people who don't know me.
