This weekend the +1 is running the Wilson Bridge half marathon, from Mount Vernon to National Harbor, along the GW Pkwy. Considered one of the best half marathons in the country due to the scenic route. We are staying over at National Harbor Sat night so he just has to get up and walk out the door to a bus at 4:30 Sun AM.

Both Lainey. All kinds of classes and age groups. OMG, what they go through to compete!!! It is the exact opposite of politically correct behavior. It is a sport that says "Who cares where my eyes are? Look at my ass! Look at my chest, my stomach and back. Look at my body. I've been working on it for years. Look at it!!!"

So now that you've had this experience which do you prefer, a dance recital with kids and so many Irish step dancing numbers you want to stick needles in your eyes, or the body building competition?

The BB, I guess. But it takes way too long. The thing starts at 10:00 AM. My daughter had to be there until 10:00 PM. We left around 4:00.

Each of the competitors had an excellent body, but it is interesting how quickly even a first timer like me becomes "critical" of people with bodies that would otherwise look perfect.

I don't suppose there was a snack bar serving burgers and fries to keep you from dying of hunger during the long day there? I would think one could only drink so many protein shakes.

Oh, they had plenty of junk food for the spectators at reasonable prices. the snack bar was manned by overweight people. Barbara and I knew it would be a long process so we brought lunch.

Hey, Patty! What's the story on your "friend" in this picture from your drive yesterday?

^Cool find, Gene! I hadn't seen that yet. I bought that wolfie in a Garden of the Gods gift shop on Oct. 19, 2013, when I was in Colorado for my sister's birthday party. It's so life like when you just see its back, sitting on a bed or couch. I kept startling when I first had it. Obviously, I took it on the drive yesterday.

I wonder if he had room in his bag for the antique wood brass camera?
