I was at my place in Kennedy Meadows for the past 3 nights. I met my roofer on Wednesday to give him the remaining payment for the two metal roofs he put on for me. It was fall up there and 25 degrees on Thursday night. Had a great campfire last night. My friend Bob came up and I took my cat, Crystal. Good times were had by us all.

The +1 is on a running roll at the moment...warming up for the Rock and Roll half marathon in Las Vegas in mid Nov. He ran a 5K and 10K together last Sat. We have a Navy wetting-down celebration to go to this Sat (friend just got his PhD and has also been promoted to Commander). Sat night we are staying at the National Harbor right across the Wilson Bridge from Alexandria, so the +1 can run the Wilson Bridge Half Marathon on Sun at 7 AM. Buses will take the runners down to Mt Vernon for the start and the finish is at the Harbor. This race is one of the 27 best half marathons in the US, since the course is along the George Washington Parkway on the Potomac River.

The Greek baby shower was fun. Not that crazy. Lots of food and drink! There was a dancer who had some very athletic moves. She gave lessons.

+ Chris and I are on a little three day vacation at the Del Coronado Hotel in San Diego. Billy Wilder filmed 'Some Like It Hot' here. Weather in SoCal is great!

We are on vaca as of Friday at 4:00 PM. We were supposed to be leaving on a road trip to SC, but may have to cancel and go to plan B. Not sure what plan B is yet.

Enjoyed Newport RI area very much yesterday. Perfect top down day.

Another weekend, another lighthouse.


We sat on the rocks near the light house looking at the ocean for quite a while. We were looking from Newport, RI to Jamestown, RI. Lots of sailboats, power boats and a HUGE cargo ship went by.
