Will probably do day 7 with the chainsaw. Getting rid of manzanita for fire prevention, and oak to make trees look better and improve the view. So far I have a row of manzanita lined up 4-5 feet high and approaching 90 feet long, for chipping. Maybe working Saturday and Monday will finish. Maybe.

Fast forward from ^^ to today. I was chainsawing manzanita for the 7th day and had an accident. No I didn't cut my hand off. In fact I had finished chainsawing and was putting limbs in the tractor bucket. I stepped on a limb, and the other end flew up and hit my hand. My little finger looked like a Z and I knew it was going to be a problem. I came in, took a shower, then the +1 t took me to the ER for a 2.5 hour visit.. (Maybe it was sympathy for the other Dean spending so much time there) It wasn't fractured or broken, just dislocated. Didn't hurt too bad. Have to keep it taped to the next finger for 2 weeks. No more clearing for a while.Yippee!

Sorry about the little mishap. I had to look up manzanita, as we don't have those here on the east coast. Now I know!

The Deans should quit with the "do it yourself" projects, though I hear the ER folks like the job security,

Morris, it's a HOLIDAY... not a weekend to work... unless it's to polish the S2000... that's ok.

at least he didn't nail his finger to something

I finally got my shower base installed permanently with thinset and the drains secured with the correct polyurethane adhesive
Now on to the faucet core swap and wedi board wall installation. This whole endeavor has been a pain the buttocks.

My DIY days are officially over. But I now, havve a new protege, my youngest stepson. He's moved here to live with is grandmother - who really shouldn't be left to live on her own - so when he wants to escape he comes here to help out, mowing the yard, cleaning, and pretty much taking care of what was formerly my to-do list. He's very handy and motivated, much unlike his leech of an older brother who's been living with us for the past year. However, his days here are very numbered.
The only reason he's still here is because I'm under docotor's orders not to dig any shallow graves.

Laugh it up funny man. Let's hope you don't manage to adhere your fat arse to the shower wall with that adhesive.

you would have enjoyed seeing me crawling around with my bum knee.
Truly pathetic.

and I don't get to use the really good adhesives until I put up the walls.
for now, it's time to go play plumber but just wrenches, no torches.
