Matt and I are traveling to Richmond on Saturday to celebrate three b-days .... his, mine and my Mom's. Lunch, rum cake and presents for my Mom. She is 85!
................. and we got to experience the "world's longest parking lot" (AKA I-95) on the way back home this afternoon. We hopped off at Quantico and took back roads the rest of the way.

so my plans got diverted.

we took my wifes car ( S430) to the dealer to et the power steering fluid for the ML.
On the way there suddenly I had no power.
If I trounced the accelerator to the floor it would leisurely speed up.
Fortunately they have started having techs in on Saturdays.
throttle position sensor is toast, ordered but not in until Tuesday.
While not thrilled, it could have been much more annoying.
I make the comment that at least #2 son has my car and not yours to my wife.
2 hours later I get a call, the battery is dead in my car.
It's 9 years old so I'm not complaining, of course that doesn't mean my son isn't.
But Mercedes roadside assistance will come out and replace it and you only have to pay for the battery.
but fixing the power steering has been put off to a later date.

So, this will be my first local drive, not counting the few cars that will drive from Cars and Coffee over to Pacific Whey on Saturday mornings.
Tomorrow (Sunday) should be a great NSX drive! I was handed the package of driver's maps on Thursday night and told to take them to the meeting spot. I was allowed to look at them. The entire drive is in my old stomping grounds from when I lived in Acton for 22 years. I know the roads and used to take my S2000 on them just for a fun diversion. This will be a blast.

The open houses were really nice. Too much champagne at the second one, though, so we both conked out at about 8:30! Today it's visit my parents for a bit, then write Christmas cards. I got a couple of gifts for the condo's Toys for Tots box, and will get a few gift cards for the Arlington County Secret Santa program for disadvantaged families and seniors.

Deb.

Local State Police were also collecting toys for the "Toys for Tots" program. I dropped some off the other day.

On to the next round! Fri I'm taking the +1 out for an early birthday dinner, at an Italian place here in DC called Bibiana. Never been there, but it gets good reviews. We normally don't eat Italian out, since it's not as good as what we (or his mom) can make. So we'll see if it measures up!

Sat evening is the +1's company holiday bash - the same as the past few years, which means big!! Open bar, lots of yummy hors' d'oeuvres, sitdown dinner for 2000 (), live band for dancing, and door prizes. And a room at the hotel for the company rate of $79!! Can't beat that with a stick. We always have fun and I'm sure this year will be no exception.

Sun is recuperation day.

Not much on tap this weekend.

The granddaughter is having her hair cut. She likes going to the hairdresser that I go to. Enjoys the experience.

My daughter in law's parents fly in from Portugal this week, so I've got some time off from baby sitting duties for several weeks.

I won't know what to do with myself.

So, how was the drive? I saw you and Jerry in one of the pics in the photo thread on Prime, but not your car. Looks like it would have been a fun !

Edit: The picture I was speaking of is the second in this thread.

The drive was great. I've never driving my NSX like THAT before. It was lots of canyon curves.

Wow, tough times have come to the defense industries, eh? You would think that companies doing well would hold off a llittle, and just pass the bucks to employees in a bonus

Oh wait, maybe you have to PAY to attend...
