Picking up a rental LOG SPLITTER at 3 pm and helping with a community LOG SPLITTING session this evening and extending into Sat afternoon!

The "victim" is the remains of a 100' tall oak tree that was taken down in a common area near the front of our home last December. Do you have any idea how many 18" long logs result from a tree that big

With all the major branches, it's a lot more than 100' divided by 1.5', Gene!
Have fun Jerry I worked as a logger this winter and it gets old really fast. You should enjoy it though its nice to be helping out your community.
With 3 hours of work on Fri eve and about 6 hours work on Sat, we now have about 6 cords of oak (with a little cherry) stacked up for pick-up by interested residents of our 35 houses. Luckily, we had a number of 20 and 30somethings to help we "senior" workers. It was a great group effort.

Six cords of wood is nothing to sneeze at Jerry!

Not going to be a great outdoor weekend here. We are getting heavy rains from Andrea, particularly tomorrow. Do have some shopping to do, so indoor activities. We are supposed to go to a Nats game tonight with peeps from the +1's office. Showers possible for that.

Yep, we'll probably be sitting out Tropical Storm Andrea starting today. We're under Tropical Storm watch as well as flood watches. Boooo.

I am hoping for some better weather in the northeast next week. On Tuesday I'm flying to Burlington, VT with my son Nick. He is 17 this month. He is going to be hiking in the mountains with a group of high school students and enjoying the outdoors. It's his first trip to New England. I will be returning to Houston at the end of the week, and then driving the S to Colorado. Our house is going on the market on Monday, so I am taking the dog with, and vacating the premises! We have been working on the house to get it ready, updating paint, floors, and landscaping, etc.. I even U-Coated the garage floor. The interior of the new house down the street is progressing a bit faster now. I'll post some more pics soon.

Nats game was rained out...good thing we didn't go. Last night was rained out, too. Cloudy this AM but I think most of it is gone. Sun later. Yay!

Good luck with the sale! All cash is fine, but the 30-day closing may not work.

We are off to Asheville, North Carolina in the MGA. Wish us luck; travel in a 54 year old car is always an adventure and fun.

Best wishes for a safe journey with no break-downs, Dave. How far is your drive?

Wish me luck, too. I'm in Denver right now, after a one-way flight in last night. In 2 hours I'll be checking out an '07 Laguna Blue S2000, with under 10,000 miles on it. I think it will be good enough to drive home, tomorrow, after a night at my sister's, tonight. If not, I have no plan B. I'll have to buy a ticket and fly home.
