We had a yummy Lebanese dinner last night - small plates of fried kibbeh, crab cakes, stuffed zucchini (ablama), feta salad and Lebanese sausages (makanek). And we split our fave dessert - which is a banana, cheese, honey and pistacho confection (achta).

Will try to lure +1 over to Huntington Beach to walk some forest trails today. If he doesn't want to go with me, I'll go with Sally. She's always willing to walk.

Here we are again 4:15 on Sunday, weekend gone....POOF!

Yesterday was pretty much a do what I wanted day. Zumba, a little shopping, a little playing with my camera and a fun gathering at night. Rick was cooking during the day.

Today I had to get off my butt and get some work done around the house which I did. I worked hard for a while, didn't even shower or put my face on until after lunch.

Dropped some food/care packages off at Mom's. Goofing off now. Some nice mellow music playing, going to finish a book on my Kindle.

I spent the afternoon putting new line on fishing rods, tying leaders and snelling hooks. I did everything from surf rods to fly rods. Water temp is warming up, red tide is gone and the tarpon will be here soon.

It must be Spring!!

Was down in Houston for the weekend with kids and grandkids. Nice ride home today. Bluebonnets, Mexican Hat, and Paintbrush were all in bloom in the median (I 45). Thank you Lady Bird for giving us something to look at between Houston and Dallas.

Just BACK from a fun 48 hour trip from Philly the The Big Apple. We were REALLY lucky with the weather, as yesterday was a glorious day

After our arrival on Saturday at noon, we took public transit to Brooklyn to see my friend's newly completed major new school project. It's huge and really interesting....lots of color design to interest the kids....compared to the usual boring deal. Over $100MM and filling a city block in a lower class area, my friend was the main guy...designer, project manager and client contact. Saturday eve we had a gourmet meal in their SoHo loft...joined by another college classmate.

Sunday we all traveled by subway to the MOMA to take in their current special architecture exhibit on Henri Labrouste, a trend-setting guy in Industrial Age of the last half of the 19th century; plus lunch in one of their neat restaurants; and another hour looking at some on Monet's "Water Lilies" and other Impressionism stuff.

Got our car out of hock for $84 late this morning (FRUGAL price for 2 full days in Lower Manhattan) and headed home. Tired but happy.

I'm starting to think spring is just a myth.
My golf league is supposed to start competitive rounds in 1 month and I'm looking at 15 inches of snow in my yard.

No plans yet. +1 has been a bit under the weather, so I'm waiting to see how he feels when the big WE arrives.
