we're going out to a favorite Italian Restaurant for a little family dinner with our daughter after a walk through Brookgreen for a final look at Nights of a Thousand Candles.

Today is clean up the storage unit day. What fun. May also bring up the Christmas decorations.

We're going to see Lincoln today. Not sure how the rest of the weekend will go, but I foresee children and grandchildren in my future.

Someone who loves me gave me a bottle of Scotch this morning so I'm tasting it.

It's a 12 year old single malt. It's called Doublewood from the Balvenie distillery because of how they age it.

Good stuff. Maybe I'll have to taste it again.

I'll probably be working on my wife's Christmas present.... that is to finish demolition of the master bathroom shower stall.
stupid builder was an idiot so now I get to do it all over again. at least this time it will be done right.
If it's any consolation, I'm doing pretty much the same thing with my guest bathroom. Before I can install a shower, I had to extend the bathroom six feet by sacrifing my A/V closet. After I finish the extension, I get to demo the old bathroom and gut it down to the studs. Then build a complete bathroom from scratch. I must love my wife.
walls are ripped out. so almost done with the deconstruction phase.
Just need to rip up the subfloor and get it ready for replacement and I can formally enter the construction phase, better known as the, spending money, phase.
getting a custom formed Expanded polystyrene (EPS) pan from KBRS with a 4 inch lip.
wedi waterproof panels for the backer board and 3 solid panels of Swanstone Solid Surface.
This sucker will be impervious to water.

To everyone, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, sacred and profane!

REALLLLLY had a nice time at Brookgreen seeing all the pretty candles and Christmas lights all over the gardens. Beautiful! Dinner at Pacino's with +1 and daughter, Lora, was icing on the cake. Great time!
