...I agree that 50 miles is plenty. I don't understand why some people have to push the limits until the enjoyable thing becomes painful. They are just glad it's over. I don't want to do that with something I like.
^^ Congrats on doing the 50-mi ride, Patty!

I love organized group rides...as long as I get with a bunch of good riders. Yes, a century ride can be "painful" if you're not prepared. It really doesn't matter how long the ride is: 25-mi, 50-mi, 75-mi, or 100-mi, it's whether or not you have trained properly for the distance. Those who hated doing the century, probably only trained for a ~50-miler. Typically, century rides are held this time of year following the bicycle racing season. You're at the top of your fitness level from racing all season, and a century ride with friends is a lot of fun!

I'm sure there was a time when the idea of doing a 50-mi ride on your E-Go would have seemed impossible, and look at you now! It's all about the training and challenge, and I'd be willing to bet that you'll be a member of the "Century Club" eventually.

Way to go, girl!!
^You're absolutely right about that. When I first got it, I thought 15 miles was all I'd do. I would like the feeling of accomplishment for doing 100 miles but I don't really plan on training for it, so I probably won't ever do it.

I'm doing a 50-mile ElliptiGO ride tomorrow, wuss that I am. Eleven other ElliptiGO riders are going for the 100 miler. It's in Oceanside, CA. Bike The Coast

Sunday, I'm going on an NSX drive with 25 other owners to Mount Palomar and Julian. Looking forward to some cherry pie in Julian.
I had a great weekend!
Glad you had a great weekend, Patty, and set a new PR for yourself on the Go. I am jealous of you SoCal folks for the good weather that you had on the Mt. Palomar drive. My weekend was not all bad, as I did meet some cool North Carolina S2000 and NSX folks at the monthly Raleigh Cars & Coffee on Saturday. I didn't take any pics, but here are a couple posted by RedCelica that prove that my NSX and I were there! Pics

We'll see.

Still nothing wild and crazy as far as weekend plans, but it looks like it might be too nice put the S to bed. We expect temps in the 60's on Sunday, so we'd like to make the best of it. Rick is having the oil changed today, but if we put a few miles on it on Sunday, that's fine. He's off Monday. He can put the S to bed then.

Yep, hope to be outdoors a lot this weekend, which will be gorgeous and in the 60s. Quite a departure from the last couple of weeks.

Got a phone call late yesterday afternoon. One of my friends from VA is up in north myrtle for a Shag Dancing competition with her new fella. She'll be coming down this afternoon and bringing him along for our approval after they visit one of his friends for their approval.
