VA will be a pivotal state in the election again, as well as having a hotly contested Senate race between Tim Kane and George Allen. So the calls won't be going away here anytime soon.

I have paid to do a 30-mile Fun Ride (bicycles) in Rancho Cucamonga, CA with lunch and wine tasting included, at a winery on Saturday. Rain is predicted for the day. That does not sound like any fun to me. I may go anyway and skip the ride. I was planning on riding my ElliptiGO.
Darn! The chance of rain is predicted at 90% to 100% for the times of the ride tomorrow. I'll check in the morning but I'm not going to bother driving an hour to get rained out, if it's still like that.
So what did ya do? I headed to the AM Zumba class in the snow....I'm getting addicted and got home around 11:30. One guy in front of me was driving about 14 mph. A "tad" overcautious. The roads weren't that bad yet.

Since I've been home I've been going through closets and drawers, it's a good day for that. Snow is piling up out there. At least 6" so far with a couple more hours to go. Rick is out there now clearing some of it out.

Hopefully, the snow will stop and the roads will be in good shape this evening as we have dinner plans.

^Lainey, I ended up going to Rancho Cucamonga at 11AM. I found out that it did rain the whole time the riders were out so I'm glad that I didn't go on the ride. I met Dave, the man who asked me to do the ride since he was the only ElliptiGO rider last year. He and his wife, Kim, were really nice and we did the wine tasting and ate, together. I'm going to meet up with Kim next weekend for more wine tasting.

Flew home from El Paso yesterday, so I'll be lazy today.
A little later I'll go pick up my mom to come watch the Pats engage the Ravens on the big screen.
maybe Brady can break his record from last week.

I was a slacker last week and only got in 3 days of my "required" 5 days of exercise. Today, I'm looking forward to 31 miles on the ElliptiGO. It's a cloudy 51*F right now. Need it to warm up a bit. New week starts today in my routine.

Good for you, Patty. I've been very bad about exercise (other than walking a lot) lately. Need to get back to rowing.

May go to lunch this weekend with a woman friend and her hubby who have a new baby. Other than that, should be fairly quiet.

Good for you, Patty. How long does it take you to do that many miles?

I'm also shooting for five days exercise/week. Four days after work and a class on Saturday, time permitting. I already know that next week that won't happen. Appointment after work one day and Mom's birthday on Saturday. Also need to be careful about some arm movements again, something has irritated the arthritic shoulder. It's been bugging me since yesterday. Either too many upwards movements of the arm, and/or maybe the use of very small hand weights last week. (I'm talking ONE pound). I'll keep it lower this week.

Busy weekend. Friday night the show in Providence, Beatles Tribute band, dinner before the show. Saturday hope to catch the AM Zumba class, on kid duty in the afternoon. Sunday will be a catch up day, I guess.

All this Zumba I should be wasting away to nothing, but not quite....feel quite healthy though.

I have a odometer on my ElliptiGO and here's its data from yesterday: 31.53 miles = 2 hours 21 mins = average speed 13.41 mph = max speed 30.30 mph.

I can average about 2 mph faster on my road bike. The ElliptiGO is heavier and more of a workout. My route is almost entirely bike trail and mostly downhill the first half. I start at around 900 feet elevation, go 2 miles uphill, then turn around and ride down to about 200 feet elevation, before turning back around to come back to my car. Except for the first two miles of uphill, the first 17+ miles is a breeze and I average about 1.5 mph faster than I end up with at the end.

Two MILES of uphill? Not my idea of fun. I like a nice flat bike path. Guess I'm a lazy girl.

^It's not a step uphill. It's a good way to start. I'd hate doing it on the other end.
