Thanks all. It has been a bad week. But it's looking as if this weekend may be a little better than last. I'm being visited by the adoption people from a local (small dog) rescue this weekend. I'm looking to adopt a "Schnoodle", who Rori plans to name Dexter. My Black Lab, Maya, will enjoy the company. She misses Wallace, and could use a new friend.

That's great, Dean. The void left when we lose our furry friends is . Some of us need to fill that void soon after a loss. We did. Rescuing an animal is a good thing.

I hope all goes well with the pet adoption.

Thanks. It has gone much faster than I expected. They showed up today and checked out my house, talked to my vet, and checked my references. I pick Dexter up at 1:00 today.

So glad you're getting a new friend for Maya and I'm really sorry for your loss. I do so hope that your schnoodle does not have the same compulsion as his namesake.

^ Thanks. Dexter is much sweeter than his namesake. He doesn't appear to have a homicidal bone in his body. I hope that doesn't change after I fall asleep.

I'm in the middle of final exams, so I'll try to post some pictures this weekend.

We'll be anxiously awaiting your first post today. If you do not post, we'll be quite concerned.

Whew. I survived the night. No signs of plastic wrap anywhere.
