I'll be changing line on reels, checking rods, giving my flats boat a full shakedown and doing a little scouting.

The following weekend I fish in the RedSnook tournament. It's a major tournament a big fundraiser for the Conservancy. It's a points qualifier on the inshore circut. Roland Martin hosts it.

I won it in 2009. I couldn't fish it last year unfortunately, business came first.

This year there will be some serious fishing going on.

I'm predicting a win. You'll know I got lucky if a second Red Snook appears in my sig.

Good luck! I don't think I've ever seen a Red Snook. I used to fish in NC when I was younger, but that was mostly for bass and perch from lakes.

Thanks Msperky

The Redsnook is a redfish, snook and tarpon tourney. Tarpon only count on the slam. Who named it that, I have no idea.

It's fished in very shallow water with light tackle.

Technique is just as important as knowing where and when to fish.

My wife tells me I have great technique and I've been fishing these waters for a very long time.

So I figure I have a shot.

Since mother nature rained on our parade last weekend, we are hopefully going to have great weather for our postponed upstate group drive.

Probably one of the last one or two of the year.

I like this color. I haven't driven one yet.

Hope I like the car.

I haven't been over to drive it yet. I thought that until I saw it next to all the other colors. It's the most ostentatious of all of them. It's the brightest one. It stands out. If I'm kicking out the bucks for one of those, I want to them to see me coming.

It has finally stopped raining so this weekend will be spent outside getting the yard ready for the soon to be here winter.

And certainly some seat time in the S.

Getting an early start to the weekend by meeting the +1 for lunch at a French bistro downtown. We went there in January after buying our "going steady" rings, so looking forward to a yummy return.
