I was disappointed. On the plane pull web site they had a C-5A listed, but they must have been mistaken by the Globemaster (C-17) I did not think that the 10K foot runways at KIAD where long enough for a C-5. Don't they need 12K?

Over the years on a few occasions on my way up I-95 North to visit my family I would see C-5's departing from Dover. They are so big, that they seem to move to slowly to stay in the air when they are climbing out.
I wish I could find (again) the You tube of the that Antanoff 225 at max take off weight (1.2 million pounds) that barely cleared the threshold lights at the far end of the runway by about two feet or less. At V1 the pilot must have drinking his second dose of Noxon that day.

We had dinner at a local seafood place last night with some long time friends. We laughed so much! Good times!
This coming weekend is the New England Fall Crawl! Really looking forward to that. PAJim has planned a great weekend for us. We will be seeing Matt (in VA) and Barbara (Plant Pixie) for the first time in quite some time. Headchef/ Dave, Connie/PJ Rider and Trapper/Paul of Vintage will also be there.
We've not met all of the attendees; it will be good to meet some new folks and catch up with our "old" friends.

Will it be a good time to see fall colors?
Wish we lived closer and could join you!
Have fun meeting with "old" friends and making new friends, too.

Sue, it's a bit early for real Fall Colors. I'm sure we will see some foliage, however the "peak weekend" is generally Columbus Day weekend. I think cooler temps also helps with the color and it's been rather warm.
The Sturbridge area will have better foliage than we will see in our area. Hurricane Irene's salty spray dried out the leaves on the trees in our area. They won't be pretty this year.
