I will spend next weekend (and possibly the rest of my life) unpacking boxes.

Thought I was going to be hunkered down having a hurricane party, but it looks like Irene going up the E coast instead.
See what kind of winds we get, this could be one of those incredible only comes along once in awhile kind of fishing weekends.

Damed hospital again for me. Hangover deficits from a long ago bicycling accident. Bone fragments in left knee make walking impossibler and impossibler, so I go in Friday for a knee replacement. Home on Monday, I guess. Dean, any helpful suggestions for rehab? I think rehab on this kind of knee replacement surgery is maybe not so bad.

Good luck, Jim. Hope the replacement parts work better than the OEM ones!

Check in when you can!

Thanks for the well wishes, everybody!

I just got a call from the hospital informing me that they had postponed my surgery to Tuesday the 30th. Good, I can go with +1 Chris to see the Texans play the Colts Saturday night. She has season tickets, and sometimes i get to go.

Enjoy the reprieve, Jim!

Is the replacement one of the lesser invasive ones I hear advertised? Hope so!

Bummer. Judging from what I saw during my experience in rehab, you should be good to go in about six weeks. The first couple of weeks in PT are going to be the worst. Take pain meds just before your session, it'll help when Herr/Frau Mengele gets to bending your knee for you and tries to touch the back of your head with your toes. On the bright side, you'll have less pain in recovery than I did. An artificial joint has no nerves.
