As we don't have kids maybe I have a distorted sense of reality? But IMHO she is being set up for perhaps some unrealistic expectations in the future. Yes, if it is not raining my instructions include rolling out the red carpet as the entrance to the limo.

You have to be kidding about the red carpet!! I definitely do not think you have a distorted sense of reality!

No, I was not kidding. But fortunately, I got re-assigned to a twenty/thirty something group of females for a wine tour this afternoon instead of the Sweet Sixteen party, as the other driver could not work this afternoon. The good news was that I received a nice tip, which would have been doubtful based on experience if I had the birthday girl.

I SO admire the "cottage industry" that Jimmy has created around him self and his "life style". Not a bad life, for (son of) a sailor, a pilot, restaurateur and business man that reported makes over $100 million per year. Not a bad life in Margaritaville (Shelter Island and where ever else he owns property).
Not everything is cheeseburgers and paradise in Margaritaville...
Margaritaville Casino closes in Biloxi; 350 out of work
I am sorry to learn this for the people that will loose their jobs and livelihoods. BTW, Cheeseburger in Paradise is owned by two females under a license agreement for the name. We have been to the one on Maui and were totally DISAPPOINTED. The main reason that we went was to purchase a T-shirt for my Sister-in-Law (who is a Parrot head). Both the food (pre-cooked burgers), and service was horrible IMO.

I just checked the reviews on Yelp and found this one from one month ago:

Posted by Sam B.

Great views and great location in old Lahaina. Floors dirty, tables sticky dirty*, service odd and food below average. My wife ordered french toast and it tasted like something from Burger King. ..........

* I had forgotten about the sticky tables.

In fairness? Of the 830 reviews this location averages three stars. But, after all it is Yelp and even the McDonald's on Maui gets three stars. Go figure?

I was out blowing leaves doing after winter cleanup.
As I moved a larger pile under a lilac suddenly a 15" garter snake went flipping away through the air.
Needless to say he was rather disoriented and didn't appear to be particularly pleased to have been disrupted.
I decided to relocate him somewhere safer away from my work area.
He showed his gratitude by crapping all over my hands.

Before we replaced the front steps we used to get them basking in the sun all of the time.

Jerry, an ElliptiGO friend of mine, Jane, lives in Phoenix, AZ. She was telling me about the abundance of rattlesnakes that are out there, now. A friend of hers got bit and went to the hospital. He was getting the antivenom and it wasn't working well. The doctor asked him if he ate rattlesnake. He said that of course he did and didn't everyone who lived there. Seems if you eat rattlesnakes the antivenom doesn't work very good. Jane's done eating rattlesnake. She also went on to tell me the story of how she was riding on the street and saw one crossing the road but didn't worry because it was almost to the center divider and she was going behind it. She said it did a flying U-turn, like a cat does, and came after her!

Garter snakes are rather innocuous little fellers and they're not venomous.
they most survive on worms and bugs.
He was rather amusing as he had his mouth wide open trying to intimidate me.
I don't think he could have gotten his mouth over my pinky.

you know your tough when you bit by a snake and the snake dies.

Goodie for me. I printed off over 70 name tag fronts and a matching number of backs. I rode my ElliptiGO 40.1 miles with 3,256 ft of elevation gain and an average of 12 mph, which is good for me. Ready for tomorrow.

Oh, thank you, Emil! I'm not badass but I'm happy with myself and that's what really counts.

I am 95% better from my respiratory plague, but Rick seems to be plagued by allergies, and is dragging...BUT we still had some fun this weekend.

Saturday he played with his plants transplanting into bigger containers. I hit the Y, had social hour with the ladies and then an afternoon to myself...headed out with my camera.

Dinner with friends then watched a movie.

Yesterday he washed the S as we were going to take a cruise, but of course, the clouds showed up early and the temps weren't all that great. We let the S sit and ran an errand in the Subaru. Took some back roads and happened upon an old abandoned power plant, used in the 1800's for a saw mill. I did toss the camera in the car so grabbed a couple shots. Had dinner later at a local restaurant. A good, if quiet weekend.

Weather for upcoming weekend looks VERY promising for Sunday. Maybe a nice outing in the S will be in order.

Patty, thanks in advance for all that hard work on the name tags.
