Just don't overdo it, Scoots. Will you be working full days?

Glad you have healed according to schedule. Aren't you just working for a bit, then retiring?

Take it easy when you go back. It turns out there are NO badges awarded (and certainly not a cash bonus) for wearing your self out when returning to work after surgery.

I've got at least a year before I will retire. I might even stretch it out a little longer.

It sounds very interesting, Matt. I hope the girls aren't spoiled rotten and this is something very special for them. Even if they are spoiled, maybe they realize it and will still turn out to be good community members. I hope you enjoy your experience and are treated well.

Saturday, Joy and I are heading up to her friends, who own and run Inspiration Vineyards, up in Santa Rosa. It will be release day; and we're both looking forward to seeing them (and tasting some good vino).
Sunday, we'll be heading to a BBQ in San Francisco. I'm bringing Korean rice sticks, pan-grilled, with a side of spicy red chili dipping sauce.

Riding my bike to Cape Henlopen State Park to see a reenactment of a captured WWII German U-boat at Fort Miles which was a fortified gun battery which defended the area from German war ships during the war. There will be actors portraying U.S. Army soldiers and German sailors captured by the soldiers at the fort. There is now one of the 16" guns which were mounted on gun turrets from the U.S.S. Missouri as well as other gun mounts aimed at the Atlantic for protection of the East Coast from German Uboats. The captured German sailors were turned over to local farmers where they worked the farms and over time became friends with the local farmers. Some of them still return to the farms and families they worked for. The concrete watch towers along the beach are still intact.

Going to a birthday dinner for my brother. He turned 70 this past week. Holy crap, I'm only four years behind him. Where the hell did the time go?
