Groups meeting in College Park and Columbia, MD and cruising to Hunt Valley Horsepower from 8-10am on Saturday morning. We have a group parking for a dozen S2K's.
Also, a midnight FnF7 S2K group at Potomac Yards, Alexandria.

I'm headed to Marion, VA on Sunday for the start of Dragon Week. Two days of driving Back of the Dragon, five days at Tail of the Dragon (and by the time I get home, I'll be draggin').

Our weekends have been pretty quiet recently because I'm caring for my mother, who appears to be indestructible. Was planning to go with the +1 to C-ville for him to run the half marathon, but it looks like he will be going alone. As long as she is hanging in there, I'm reluctant to be out of town. Can't get back those days with her.

Yes. The oddest part is that the start is like a drag race complete with a tree and staging and reaction times posted. Launching a Lotus is not something I really wanted to be doing. Heck, launching an S2000 isn't really something I would want to do either. I just tried to be as kind to the machine as possible.

Thursday our 42 year old son is moving back home. He wants to buy a house and says he can't save enough money living in an apartment. Wonder how long it will last this time? He plans to stop smoking too. That should help to ease the tension.

Friday I'm off to a ping-pong beer fest. A fellow worker started this Good Friday tradition almost 30 years ago. Now the beer consumed is counted in bottles rather than barrels.

Drag racing is an excellent analogy. I'm guessing that is what the organizers were going for to build more spectator interest. And yes, launching can be very hard on the car. I smoked my clutch on a poorly timed clutch drop once.
