What are you doing this coming weekend?

Wow levi I thought you had as much snow as we did I know you have been getting the cold temps. Got the sled out yesterday at first I only made it about 15 feet and thought I was done. Its an uphill angle to get away from the shed into the large part of the yard I gassed it and she went but there was no steering to speak of and she was getting sucked into the side of the shed so I had to let off then I was done. I dug out the front of the sled and after heaving it around got it going and just stayed on the gas I still couldn't steer very well and ended up going between two tight trees but I made it out. Didn't get out on the trails yet but hope too next weekend. Working today shoveling and plowing.

^^^At times I think it's been too cold to snow here. Right now it's 6 and the snow is coming down pretty steady, expecting a foot to foot and a half of fluffy stuff. At least the winds ain't howling like last sunday.

I made gin last weekend so I guess I'll sample some of it this weekend. Need to do laundry. Miscellaneous other stuff. Boring chit.

How does one ensure the stuff is not going to make one blind?

The beauty of the internet...

I took advantage of the warm temps (about 57* F / 14* C) today to change the transmission MTF on our 2008 Honda Fit Sport, rotate the tires and change the cabin filter.
The biggest PITA is jacking the car up and down to get it on the four jack stands, because that has to be done in stages which is very time consuming. Then just about anything that could go wrong did. One has to remove the splash shield (belly pan) from the front of the car to get to the gear box drain and fill plugs. Inevitably the plastic pop fasteners break when removing them and I did not know to buy spares. Then the hoses popped off of my transfer pump when trying to refill the MTF. What a mess that was. I duct taped them on and continued. Then I discovered that there is so little room (one can tell that the guy who designed it, never intended to work on it) to get a 3/8" torque wrench up on the filler bolt that one can only get one click of the ratchet at a time to tighten it to 32 Ft Lbs.
Re-installing the belly pan is probably fairly easy if one has two things: A lift, and second set of hands to help hold one side up while re-inserting the pop fasteners.
The good news in all of this effort was the reward that I realized when updating the spread sheet that I keep for maintenance (as I do for the S and our Infiniti). In seven years of ownership on the Fit Sport with 60K miles not counting tires it has only cost us a little over thirty seven dollars a year in maintenance items, if I do not include engine oil, oil filters and (one set of) tires.
