Roseanne, knowing how you organize a drive, I'm not at all surprised that the guys were shaking your hand and all. You're no slouch.

I'm glad you had fun even if it was hot. I don't miss the summer in the Mojave Desert.

Admittedly I had to "work" a little of the day because I was one of the organizers, but it was totally worth it.

I'm honestly on Cloud 9 about how well it went seeing as none of us doing this thing had ever organized a track day before, yet by the end of the day the school guys were shaking my hand and telling me we were one of the best non-professional groups they have *ever* shared a track day with and they would be happy to share a track with us again when the opportunity arises. How cool is that? Yippee!
Good track days are one of life's highs! But you have to experience it to know it.

I guess no one has been doing anything very exciting for a while, since the last post in this thread was on 12 August. Anyway, we will be leaving on Friday for a two week vacation/road trip. First of all, another week in Ocracoke, NC, where we have probably visited at least 20 times. During that week, we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary. Then, after the Halloween/Pirate Day celebration in Ocracoke on Saturday, we are taking the Ocracoke-Cedar Island ferry across the sound to eventually wind up in Atlantic Beach, NC, where we will stay two nights. After that, on to Charleston, SC for two more nights. Finally, returning to my alma-mater, NC State, in Raleigh, for a Homecoming get-together at the School of Engineering. Since our football team sucks so bad this year, we decided to pass on the game on Saturday, so will be heading back to Delaware instead. Considered taking the S, but decided such a long road trip would be more comfortable in the Murano, plus we can drive it on the beach. Just hope the hurricane season is really over!

Hmmm we've been "on the go" since the last post here, I'm sure I've posted somewhere about it.

Your plans sound like fun, Gene. Hope you have a great time, and Happy Anniversary to you and Bea.

Nothing exciting on our weekend schedule. We have soccer duty with the grandson. He has scored 11 goals in four or five games. He's having a good time and playing quite well. His sister wants me to take some of her and her friend........on a RR track with foliage. I think I know a spot, hope there are no trains running, or that we don't get arrested.

Italian Food with our friends is on tap for Saturday night. Maybe S time on Sunday if the sun is shining.....

Sounds like lots of fun, Gene. I may go to the Getty Museum this weekend with my friend, Ricky. He comes up with good ideas for things to do. I've lived in So Cal all my life, and have never gone to that museum.

Lucky you…The Getty Museum is an architectural marvel. Be sure to take your camera with a wide angle lens. Photographically speaking, the best time to visit would be in the late afternoon. Post some pics. Enjoy yourself!

I just spent an hour looking at the website to see what the Getty's about. It looks amazing, like everyone has always told me it is. I want to get the full experience so I made a lunch reservation, too. I've heard the food is great there.

The Getty Center is a very unique museum. I have always enjoyed my visits there. The garden tour is very interesting as is the architectural tour.

Next you should plan for a visit to the Getty Villa. They do a lovely seasonal afternoon tea as well. Or just grab a glass of wine and kick it casual. One of my visits was with my mother. Had to find a way to unobtrusively avoid one of the exhibits though... It was about Greek and Roman porn art. I'm not making this up. Mom would have been mortified.

Oh, absolutely. It’s a good thing that you spent a considerable amount of time previewing porn filled exhibits. Otherwise…

^^ It's important to be well-versed in many topics. And I am certainly one to do whatever research is necessary to achieve an appropriate level of knowledge and proficiency in any topic.

Of course, it does not mean that one discusses these topics indiscriminately. Topic matter should always fit the audience as well as the venue.

Mom would have turned many shades of crimson.
