Have fun, Patricia. That is a lot of seat time without much rest in between, but you're not unfamiliar with that.

Wish that I could make this X-country trip as I had originally planned, as I have also never been to this part of the country. Hope you have a great time, Patty! I know that this will be a piece of cake compared to some of your east-coast drives.

Is your daughter going with you as you once mentioned? If not, coop is looking for a ride on the drives, since he will be there in his Jeep.

Gene, Christa really wants to join me but her days off may change from Tues and Wed and ruin the opportunity. I don't want to give my seat away until I know for sure. I really want to know my passenger and like them, too. Had one once that took the fun out of it.

After my Y class today, one of the ladies and I cleaned up our act and met downtown. An old whale ship (see thread) came "home" for a visit. The waterfront was abuzz with people. The local fishing fleet also had a few vessels open to the public. Fishing/scalloping is the #1 industry here, and a business associated with fishing is what gives me a paycheck. I've worked for the same company for 28 years and never stepped on a fishing vessel but I did today.

My friend and I stopped at a local ale house for some pub chips to share, an ale for her, a diet Coke for me. Up the street were many vendors selling their goods. Not flea market, or yard sale stuff, but nice handcrafted items. We browsed around for a while.

Tomorrow, Rick and I will attend a previously scheduled July 4th cookout, tomorrow is the rain date. We had a TON of rain 8+ inches in some area yesterday, so many parties had to be postponed.

A good weekend. Monday lurks though............

Hope Christa can make it. As for your passenger, at least you can pick and choose. Just trying to figure out who it was that was a bummer before. I know you have had a couple of disappointing experiences when you were the passenger. (Hopefully, me excluded!)

Gene, it was someone at S2KCA Days in San Francisco. I had a guy for some if the day who wouldn't talk. He may be going to this one. I saw him at Colorado's S2KCA Days.

We're sitting on the porch just about 1000' feet from Nauset beach in Cape Cod. It looks like it is going to be a beautiful day!

Cannon Beach in OR is really nice. A cousin from AZ has a vacation home there on the ocean. Lovely.

FYI, the sooner you get hotel reservations for ^those, the better. Weekend on the coast fills up hotel rooms.
