Almost...the next couple of weekends will be fairly quiet, before lots of plans Memorial weekend.

Looks like we will be watching raindrops fall this weekend, AGAIN. We have had so few days of sun I think I need a fistful of Vitamin D. It's downright depressing.

It's Mother's Day weekend. My first without Mom. That feels sad and very weird. For myself, I've never been one to fuss over Mother's Day, a quiet day works just fine for me, but Mom liked to be fussed over. Mom was always saying all she wanted for Mother's Day was good kids. I think she did OK in that department. All six of us turned out OK. Last year she was 94, there were only two of us available to spend time with her. In the evening, Rick and I took her to dinner at a local seafood place she enjoyed. When we brought her home I felt terrible when I realized what a struggle she had making her way back to her apartment. I felt bad that I didn't think to grab the companion wheel chair she had as we were providing door to door service, but it was obvious she was slowing down and she was so very tired. Mom left us about a month later. I'm sure she is looking down on her six kids and her grandkids and great grankids and realizes she did a hell of a job and raised "good kids." Happy Mother's Day, Mom

.

Yep, this will be my second without mine. The +1 still has his - she's 86. So we will send flowers and chat with her on Sun.

Saturday we are driving to Idaho Falls to tour the LDS (Morman) temple before it is dedicated.

Sunday will be my last long run before my marathon next Saturday, doing the yards, and cooking a tri tip for Mother's Day.

Another quiet weekend before a busy Memorial one. Might go downtown to a Cuban place the Ambassador told me about on the plane back from NC. Cheaper than a flight to Key West to get my fix at El Siboney. Two doors up is a Dominican place which has stewed goat. Can't decide which to try first!

Neighborhood yard sale tomorrow. Time to do a little basement cleaning out. Everything is in the garage now, and it AIN"T going back in the basement, even if I have to give the crap away!

Edit: Successful day! Only a few items unsold and $190 added to our vacation fund.
