Will have spent 1/2 of the weekend in the car. Left SC at 6:40 AM and arrival at home will be almost 1:00 AM. Took a slightly longer route traffic has not been bad but what a long day. Won't attempt this much distance in one day again. We stop often (quick stops) but this is too long a time in a car. We wanted a full day at home before going back to work so we decided to do the one day drive

Nope...we did shave some time off the route once we took out the via points on the GPS and also decided to stay on 95 N vs using the more pleasant Merritt Parkway in CT. We were in town dropping the first teenager off just after 11:30. Slept well, but damn, I'm tired today. I wish I had planned to take tomorrow off, but don't want to use too much vacation time at once, and there's a lot on my desk to be dealt with before I process payroll which needs to be done Tuesday at the latest. The woes of those of us still working. Very thankful we made the trip without incident.

A friend of mine was also traveling back from the same area. They left about an hour later, took a different route, sat in a lot of traffic on 95 N and had about an hour less on the road than we did. At least we kept moving with only a few minor delays.

As a team member, you will experience the 212 miles of trails, forest service, and rural county roads that traverse this beautiful area. The overnight relay run starts at Pink Beds Park in Brevard, NC and ends at the Nantahala Outdoor Center in Bryson City, NC. The Smoky Mountain Relay course takes runners through some of the most beautiful, pristine, and challenging terrain in the Southeast. Along the route runners will see the magnificent granite dome of Looking Glass and spectacular views from the Blue Ridge Parkway to the Mountain to Sea trail."
The team actually had a great time and no injuries. The rain held off for the most part.

Fri evening we are headed to Old Ebbitt with friends for oysters, etc. Sun we are headed to the Nats game against the Mets.

Not much happening this weekend. It will be low key since we will be away again next weekend, this time with car peeps. Weather looks good. We'll manage some top down time.

+1 Chris is on route to a four day trip to the Mexico Pacific with her book club girl friends. Then it's off to Spring Fling next week. Is it time yet?
