What would be your worst real life night mare?
For me, my worst real life night mare would be to wrongfully accused of a crime that I did not commit. I do not want to imagine how that would change one's life as one knows it. Although, in recent years a number of people that have been wrongfully convicted for crimes that they did not commit have been exonerated. To me, that would be the worst real life night mare one could go through.

Funny, I just told a man I met tonight that his living situation was my worst nightmare. (I was only partially kidding.) He lives in downtown Los Angeles.
Seriously, I think one of my worst nightmares would be to have one of my kids die before me.

That's an easy one, I'm watching my father in law go through it now.
Living out his days with dementia, warehoused away in a full care facility, waiting to die.
For the record, he is in a very high end facility but in the end it's still the same.
even if the walls have pretty wallpaper with nice pictures and attentive staff, it's still just a warehouse.

My mind can conjure many horrific things (like being eaten by a human cannibal, being attacked by millions of fire ants and having no escape, and so on), but I cannot say what would be the worst thing. I like to think happy flower filled thoughts and golden sunshiney things, so I cannot add any more to this discussion. I guess I'm just Alice in Wonderland, but I do believe human beings are resilient folks who can overcome horrible things and yet still move on, smile, and live to laugh another day.

Although depressing it is a good question Matt one that really makes you think. I would have to say accidentally killing someone that is something that I don't think one would ever get over.

I think I can endure just about anything so why should I worry about what might happen. Having lived with and lost a wife that went through a painful 25 years of illness and watching her try to smile every day I'm sure I can make it too.
Screw the nightmares and live the dreams, one day at a time!

Interesting question, but I'm with the can't think/don't want to worry about it group. Take one day at a time. I've already wasted too many precious hours worrying about things that fortunately didn't happen and don't want to spend more time thinking about the bad things that may happen.
